Join the Discover Photography team in Slovenia’s breathtaking Triglav national park. Lake Bled & Lake Bohinj will be the focus of our landscape photography weekend in the natural splendour of the lakes and mountains of Slovenia.

Lake Bled is surrounded by The Triglav National Park which covers the entire range of the Julian Alps and gained its name after the highest Slovenian mountain Mt Triglav 2864M. The most recognizable symbol of the lake is the 15th century Church of Assumption on Bled Island with its long and diverse history and lush greenery which will provide us with the chance to capture the iconic Bled image. Gracious swans, traditional Pletna boats and Bled castle illuminated at twilight make this area one of the most photogenic regions in Europe.

This picturesque valley of Bohinj is 20 km in length and only 25 minutes drive away from our base in Bled. Lake Bohinj is the largest permanent natural lake in Slovenia with its bridge and the Church of St. John surrounded by 2000m peaks. We will also get the chance to photograph the incredible rolling hills, meadows and wooden cottages of Bohinjnska.

Discover Photography provide photographic tuition with our professional photographer, during  the workshop you will be able to learn all the different techniques to photograph the lakes, mountains and waterfalls and come home with some outstanding images. The tuition will cover composition, shutter speeds, apertures & understanding histograms.

All levels are catered for with digital & film so whether you are new to photography, an enthusiast or a seasoned pro looking for a new photography holiday The Julian Alps & Lake Bled is an oasis of breathtaking scenery.

Over the five days, you can expect a fun packed workshop of great photography, great company and great food in the beautiful surroundings of Bled.

We have teamed up with Travel Counsellors who will be able to assist in any flight travel arrangements you require and make sure you meet up with the tour at the times advised.

Your tutor for this workshop is Martin Rak. Martin is a renowned Czech landscape photographer based in Prague. He got his first camera at the age of 6 and has been interested in photography ever since. He has been commended in many competitions and won awards such as SWPO National Award winner 2016 and 3rd place EISA Maestro 2016.

Martin’s work has been published in various publications, magazines and calendars around the world. He contributes to Black and White Photography Magazine, Practical Photography, Digital SLR Photography, GEO (Germany) and many others. Martin cooperates with the CzechTourism agency and Bohemian Switzerland National Park.

His photographs are typical with foggy scenery, dramatic light and dreamy mood.
