The Austrian Lake District, also known as the Salzkammergut, is an incredibly beautiful region that boasts some of the most stunning landscapes in Europe. With crystal-clear lakes, picturesque mountains, and idyllic villages that have inspired artists, writers, and photographers for centuries, it’s a paradise for photography enthusiasts.

This tour is tailor-made for those who love to capture the beauty of nature through their camera lens. You’ll have the opportunity to explore and photograph some of the most breathtaking scenery in Europe, while also immersing yourself in the rich history and culture of the region.

One of the highlights of the tour is the Hallstatt village, a UNESCO World Heritage site that’s nestled in a valley surrounded by majestic mountains. With its charming houses and picturesque church, it’s no wonder that Hallstatt is one of the most photographed locations in Austria.

Another must-see location on the tour is the Wolfgangsee, a stunning lake that’s surrounded by rolling hills and mountains. Here, you can capture the reflections of the surrounding landscape in the crystal-clear water and create truly breathtaking images.

Throughout the tour, you’ll receive expert guidance and tuition from a professional photographer. From composition and shutter speeds to apertures and understanding histograms, you’ll learn everything you need to know to capture the perfect shot. All levels are catered for with both digital and film cameras.

The Discover Photography workshop goes beyond field guidance and tuition. You’ll also receive tutorials to develop your camera and photography skills. The location tutorials cover a variety of topics, such as understanding and achieving accurate exposures, and expanding your vision of a subject through the art of composition.

So, whether you’re an experienced photographer or just starting out, this tour is the perfect way to explore one of the most photogenic regions in Europe. Get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Austrian Lake District and create unforgettable memories

Tutor

Your tutor for this workshop is Michael Abid, an accomplished travel photographer hailing from Germany, with a penchant for capturing the essence of cityscapes, landscapes, architecture, and aerial perspectives worldwide. While Michael always had an interest in photography, it wasn’t until 2011, upon acquiring his first DSLR camera, that he unearthed his true passion for the craft.

Since 2013, Michael has immersed himself in the realm of travel photography, dedicating his available time to framing shots in iconic destinations across Europe and beyond. His journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of honing both his photography skills and distinctive editing style. In a pivotal decision in 2022, Michael transitioned from his primary occupation to fully embrace the life of a professional photographer.
