Join the Discover Photography team in Croatia’s breathtaking natural splendour of Plitvice lakes & waterfalls. Plitvice Lakes are composed of 16 interlinked lakes and 25 hectares of woods, lakes and waterfalls surrounded by the mountains of Mala Kapela and Pljesivica, Plitvice lakes are renowned for their distinctive colours, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue. The colours change constantly depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight.
We will use the eight km of pathways and wooden walking trails around the lakes to photograph this outstanding location. The trails descend from an altitude of 636m to 503m above sea level. The lakes that are formed by natural dams are separated into upper and lower lakes providing fantastic photographic opportunities.
Discover Photography provide photographic tuition with professional photographer Paulo Silva, during the workshop you will be able to learn all the different techniques to photograph the lakes & waterfalls and come home with some outstanding images. Tutor
Your tutor for this workshop is Paulo Silva. Paulo is one of Portugal’s finest and most sought-after photographers. Paulo has a passion for landscape and nature photography, concentrating the majority of his work in Portugal’s Ria de Aveiro. Being a master at using his camera and working with colors and contrasts, he stays away from Photoshop, preferring to use filters when necessary to achieve the ideal balance of light and motion.
For him, the philosophy of “get it right in the camera” certainly applies. In 2015 Paulo created a course in IFP at the Portuguese Institute of Photography. His award-winning photographs have been published in national and international magazines and featured in gallery exhibits.
