Join Discover Photography in Madeira for a 5 day photography tour to capture this undiscovered volcanic Island. Madeira Island is rugged with high coastal cliffs, jagged mountain peaks, multi-coloured towns, fishing villages and an epic coastline.
During this 4-night photography workshop we will cover the main Madeira Island. We will have plenty of time out in the field at sunrise & sunset for seascape photography and also capture the cloud inversions during this time of the year from high viewpoints. During the day we will be able to photograph the waterfalls and old towns.
We will also seek out interesting nooks and crannies in the towns & villages as well as the better-known and more iconic sites. Our aim will be to give you ample opportunity to really capture the history and beauty of this amazing Island.
As well as having extended and flexible time in Portugal where we will work one-on-one with each guest to hone your seascape and urban photography skills, we will also provide demonstrations of advanced landscape and cityscape photography techniques, such as High Dynamic Range Imaging, image stacking and night photography.
We also encourage participants to bring a selection of their work for a review and critique; our professional tutor will discuss the art of landscape photography composition, how to use the camera to create wow-factor images and how to approach photography with the eye of a pro.

Tutor
Paulo Silva was born in Lourosa, Santa Maria da Feira (Portugal) Paulo began photographing in 2012 and in just a few short years has become one of Portugal’s finest and most sought-after photographers. Largely self-taught, Paulo quickly developed his own very recognizable style.
Paulo has a passion for landscape and nature photography, concentrating the majority of his work in Portugal’s Ria de Aveiro. Being a master at using his camera and working with colors and contrasts, he stays away from Photoshop, preferring to use filters when necessary to achieve the ideal balance of light and motion. Paulo Silva is a Progrey user. He enjoys the quality and neutrality of Progrey filters to obtain the best possible image in-camera. For him, the philosophy of “get it right in the camera” certainly applies.
In 2015 Paulo created a course in IFP at the Portuguese Institute of Photography. His award-winning photographs have been published in national and international magazines and featured in several gallery exhibits.
